Products

How do I store the meals?

When you receive your meals, you must immediately store them in a fridge between 1-4 °C. Once the tray seal is broken, they must be heated and consumed immediately.

How long do the meals last?

The meals have been approved to last 9 days from the cooking date. We will normally cook on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, therefore you will have at least a week to consume them after receiving them on Friday. The expiry date is printed on the label on the sleeve.

Are the plastic meal trays oven-proof?

Yes the trays are suitable for temperatures up to 220°C, however please do not place them directly under the grill. At higher temperatures, the tray may become soft, this is perfectly normal and completely safe. When they cool down again, they will harden and retain their shape.

Why are some products missing nutritional info?

Most of our products now include nutritional information on the website and on the labels. However we are still waiting on some lab test results to finalise the missing info on some of our products. Our meals are not classed as pre-packaged as we cook them after you have placed your order, therefore we do not have a legal obligation to provide nutritional information.

Can I freeze the meals?

Yes you can freeze the meals for up to a month. We recommend you do so as soon as you receive them to ensure they are at their best quality. We recommend you defrost the meal first prior to reheating for best results. To reheat from frozen, please add 5-10 more minutes to the cooking time in the oven or another 3-4 minutes in the microwave. Important thing is that your food is piping hot at (75 °C throughout) before serving.

Do you cater for allergens or specific dietary requirements?

All dish allergen information is displayed on each product page and product label. Unfortunately we cannot modify dishes for allergy sufferers and other dietary requirements due to our cooking processes. We use industry standard best practises to prevent cross contamination of ingredients. If you suffer from an allergy or intolerance, we advise you to not order from us. However we do welcome any suggestions that we can place on our ideas board for the future.

Can dish ingredients be changed?

We'd love to be able to make each dish bespoke for every customer, unfortunately this isn't possible as our chefs cook according to set recipes for efficiency.

Ordering

When will my order be delivered?

We currently only operate a weekly delivery on Friday. You’ll be able to select which Friday you’d like delivery at checkout, up to 2 months in advance. The order cut off time is 8pm on the previous Tuesday. For example if you’d like your order on Friday 30th July, you’ll need to order by 8pm on Tuesday 27th July.

Can I cancel my order?

Absolutely. If you change your mind, you’ll need to email us hello@yumshi.com before the cut-off time on Tuesday 11pm prior to your delivery date. For example if your delivery is for Friday 30th July, you’ll need to tell us by 11pm on Tuesday 27th July. Unfortunately you won’t be able to cancel your order after the cut off time as we may have started cooking already.

What is the minimum order?

There is no minimum order requirement. Delivery is FREE for orders of £30 or more, and anything under is £5. We recommend you order a minimum of 6 meals for packaging sustainability as we currently only have one size of box.

Packaging

Can I reuse the coolant gel packs?

Yes! We recommend you do, they can be used to keep food cool for lunchboxes and picnics or if you sprain your ankle. The contents inside them are food safe & non-toxic and can be disposed of in general waste or down the drain without harming the environment. The outer film is LDPE 4 and widely recycled.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yep! 100% of our packaging is either recyclable or biodegradable. The shipping box is made of cardboard, the tray sleeve is made of card, the insulation is made of recycled paper, the coolant gel pack outer film is made of LDPE 4, the tray and lidding film is made of PET.

Do you use plastic packaging?

We use LDPE 4 for the coolant gel packs and PET for the tray and lidding film, which contain recycled content and are all recyclable. We are constantly on the look-out for non-plastic alternatives, however currently there are no alternatives that conform to the same food safety and longevity standards of the products we use. However watch this space!

Delivery

Who do you use to deliver your parcels?

We use DPD Local to help us deliver your meals safely to you. They have been voted the most reliable courier service in the UK with excellent customer service. From our experience we have a delivery success rate of over 99%.

What time will my parcel arrive on the delivery day?

You will receive an email or text message from DPD with an estimated 1 hour delivery window by 11am on the delivery day.

Can I track my delivery?

Yes, on your delivery notification email or text message from DPD, there'll be a link to track your delivery and notify the driver where to leave your parcel if you are not in.

You can also download the DPD app by clicking here. You'll be able to track the progress of your delivery, take a photo of your front door to help the driver locate your house and also contact DPD customer services.

What if I’m not in to receive the parcel?

The courier have been instructed to leave the parcel in a safe place. Due to the perishable nature of the meals, they will not be returned to the depot or redelivered.

My meals arrived warm, are they still safe to eat?

The courier will deliver within 24 hours of collection from us. The coolant gel packs should keep the meals at a safe temperature during the transit time. On arrival it is advised that they be placed in your fridge as soon as possible. You must ensure that the meals are reheated properly according to the cooking instructions, and the contents have reached at least 75 degrees Celsius before consumption.

My meals arrived damage, what happens now?

Firstly, we’re very sorry this has happened. Unfortunately this does happen every now and then. Please take some photographs and email them to us at hello@yumshi.com along with your order number and we’ll either send a refund for the damaged items or resend them on the next available delivery date.

My meals didn't turn up

Sorry, there must have been an issue on the courier's side, which is out of our control. The courier will have received instruction to destroy the parcel as the food would no longer be safe to eat. Please email us hello@yumshi.com along with your order number and we’ll either send a refund for missing delivery or resend them on the next available delivery date. If the courier does redeliver, please do not accept delivery or dispose of it if they do.

I am not happy with the delivery service, who do I talk to?

We rely on our third party courier service to safely deliver our packages to you in a timely manner. You should receive a text or email notification with an estimated time slot for delivery. If you are not happy with the service you received please email us hello@yumshi.com and we will investigate for you.
